CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining
This manufacturing technology is best known for its ability to create highly specialised and high-precision custom parts with very tight tolerances and a possible accuracy to about a quarter of the width of a human hair.
It is a subtractive manufacturing technology where parts are created by removing material from a solid block through a variety of automated cutting operations.
CNC machining tools such as mills, lathes, grinders and routers are controlled by a computer with very little human supervision during the manufacturing process and can be rotated around various axes, usually three or five.
Almost any kind of hard material can be CNC machined; an engineer designs the CAD model of the part ordered, a machinist turns that file into a CNC program and sets up the machine, including cutting, tool changes and cooling.
At Werner Engineering, we are always on the lookout for the latest technology that allows us to deliver outstanding service, astounding accuracy and the timely delivery of orders.
And this is why we have CNC Milling Machines, a CNC Horizontal Borer, a CNC Floor Borer and A CNC Vertical Borer – with more on the way.
